On April 21, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Transplant Support Group Inc. (NEPATSG) held its second annual Monroe County Organ & Tissue Donor Awareness Walk. Walkers and their sponsors raised a total of $2,256.

    The total raised represents an 85 percent increase in funds and 100 percent increase in attendance over last year. Howard Kindred Sr., founder and CEO, said, "this year was real special because we had a living donor family member attends as well as two families whose children had organ transplants."

    Guest speaker at this year's event was state Rep. Kelly Lewis.
