Stroudsburg - Organ donor cards went out to all Monroe County employees Friday in their paychecks as part of a campaign to highlight the need for donations. The county commissioners and the county Sheriff's office are endorsing the campaign, part of a national effort to raise awareness of the need for organ and tissue donations to help save lives and improve the quality of life for those with disease or serious illness. The county effort aims at assisting area residents by working closely with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Transplant Support Group of East Stroudsburg and the Gift of Life Donor Program. The groups serve this area. The cards with accompanying letter went out to more than 600 county employees and their families.
